Colleen Dorsey, Senior Consultant
How does your personal mission serve SIMA Partners clients?
For over 25 years, I have been helping people, leaders and teams – and the organizations in which they serve – learn, change, and grow. It is my passion to help leaders and executive leadership teams create the kind of environment that is most useful and inspiring so both the people and the organization can be the best they can be. Whether through assessment (the job and the person), coaching for high-performance, or leading a major change effort – facilitating satisfaction, learning, individual effectiveness, and strong organizational performance – I love helping people and companies succeed.
Since 1990, Ms. Dorsey has developed skills and expertise in many areas of Human Resources while working in multiple industries and organizations, including: Personnel Decisions, American Express Financial Advisors, Select Comfort, Allina Hospitals and Clinics, Opus Corporation, and Nahan Printing. Colleen brings to SIMA Partners extensive Human Resource experience and expertise having recruited and developed hundreds of leaders and employees, built winning teams and provided HR Consulting from strategy development to succession planning. Her expertise lies in realigning roles, creating and designing new jobs, actively recruiting for “hard to fill/hard to find” jobs, building and streamlining recruiting functions, and working with senior leadership to create models for both job-person fit and effectiveness. Colleen also focuses on healthcare and nonprofit organizations as those areas align with her personal value system, as well as her consulting, board, leadership and volunteer experience.
In addition to her career in the Human Resources field, Colleen was a professional actress and singer, a college instructor at The University of MN, a high school math tutor, and an elementary school baseball coach.
Colleen gives much of her time to coaching and mentoring people in career transition and people who are in the recovery process.
